Ukraine is one of the countries that make the budget process more equitable

On February 20-22, the Ukrainian delegation, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine Olena Machulna and Liudmyla Boychenko, as well as the representatives of the GRB Project, Maja Bosnic and Olga Cherniuk, took part in the meeting of the countries of Eastern Europe. The event, held in Vienna (Austria), was organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Jointd Vienna Institute (JVI) in collaboration with the UN Women to discuss issues of gender-responsive budgeting. The meeting was attended by representatives from 11 countries that presented their achievements in implementing gender budgeting.

Olena Machulna and Liudmyla Boychenko (Ministry of Finance of Ukraine) represented Ukrainian experience of implementation of GRB into the public finance management system within the framework of the budget reform, as well as shared practical experience on GRB in Ukraine.

During the discussion of experts in public finance management, GRB Project Team Leader Maja Bosnic presented a general concept for integrating the gender aspect into the budget process.
